ABQ Trolley Co. is very excited to present an original Trolley-inspired artwork by Ricardo Chavez-Mendez titled, Dynamic Route 66 II. Ricardo is the Master of Curvismo. This original masterpiece took 117 hours! It is available to view at the Oro Fine Art Gallery in The Galeria (downtown ABQ). The original oil painting is 36" x 18". Born in Torréon, Coahuila, Mexico, Ricardo Chávez-Méndez decided at age fourteen to become an artist. Self-taught, with encouragement from his artistically inclined family, he studied the work of master painters through books and exhibitions. At nineteen, he began teaching at Torréon's Casa de la Cultura (House of Culture), funded by the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (National Institute of Fine Arts & Literature), where he stayed for seven years. He has also taught graphic and perspective/composition at the city's School of Architecture. Read more about Ricardo here .
