Tom Rutherford is a politician, a lawyer and a balloonist. He considers himself to be a "Hot Air Specialist." Tom served for 24 years as a New Mexico State Senator, 8 years as a Bernalillo County Commissioner, and he and his son Jeremy now operate The Rutherford Group, a public affairs consultancy. Tom's political career started on the same day as his ballooning career. He is a co-foumder of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, and now serves as master of ceremonies and public address announcer for the largest ballooning event in the world.
